The Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun was one of the first ski areas to invest in modern winter sport facilities. Hotels have sprung up like mushrooms and the ski lift network boasts all the latest technology. The Silvretta Arena ski area is spread out between Ischgl and Samnaun, the latter located in Switzerland. The Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun is one of the largest interconnected ski areas in Tyrol, offering a very versatile ski area and more than guaranteed snow cover thanks to the high altitude.
The Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun is especially popular with advanced skiers. However, with around 240km of perfectly maintained ski slopes, there are endless opportunities for skiers and snowboarders of all levels, from easy blue runs to challenging off-piste skiing and modern snow parks. Expert skiers can tackle the slopes on the Greitspitze, as well as at the Palinkopf (accessible via the Gampenbahn) where there are a number of beautiful ski routes. For a good valley run, try the Duty Free Run into Samnaun (although snowboarders might not appreciate the flat bits). Also highly recommended is the Smuggler's Run ski circuit, which has different options for different levels of skiers. And don't miss a trip to the Paznauner Taja mountain hut, located in the heart of the ski area, where you'll find the best après-ski scene. The Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun has become one of the most well-known skiing and snowboarding hot spots in Austria and it's certainly not surprising! From unforgettable skiing to concerts with international stars held up on the slopes, excellent restaurants and a great choice of activities, the Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun ski area is certainly up there with the big players!

Expansive ski area served by modern lifts
The Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun boasts almost 240km of pistes served by more than 40 modern lifts. The massive ski area lies partly in Switzerland. An ultra-modern double-decker cable car (the world's first!) brings skiers and snowboarders from Samnaun into the ski area. From Ischgl, you have the choice of three fast gondolas, including the recently opened 3S Pardatschgratbahn that whisks you up to 2600m above sea level at the Pardatschgrat. Off-piste enthusiasts can take the Piz Val Gronda to 100 hectares of terrain designated specifically for freeriding. The Silvretta ski pass also grants access to the pistes in Kappl and See im Paznauntal, reachable via free ski bus. For a fun way to end your day, have a go on the Ischgl Skyfly, a 2km-long zipline that reaches dizzying speeds of 84km/h!
