Ski resort Hintertux Glacier

The Hintertux Glacier is Austria’s only true year-round ski resort, with skiing 365 days a year. With altitudes over 3000m there is always guaranteed snow here, in spring, autumn, winter and even summer. It’s not unusual to come across professionals who are training for the World Cup at the Hintertux Glacier. The ski area offers access to almost 60 pistes for every level, as well as two snow parks and some good powder skiing. With plenty of other sites to see at Mayrhofen and the Hintertux Glacier, you’re sure to have a good holiday.

The slopes on the Hintertux Glacier are best suited to intermediate and advanced skiers, who can challenge themselves on pistes up to 10km long. If you want to practise your turns, the Olperer and the Kaserer have wide, sloping pistes that are perfect for carving. Grab a midday drink at the Spannagelhaus or the new Tuxer Fernerhaus with its large sun terrace, and don’t miss a visit to the Spannagelhöhle, largest cave system in the Central Alps. For après-ski, head to the Sommerbergalm (2100m) or down to the Hohenhaus Tenne Hintertux in the valley, or take a trip to nearby Mayrhofen.
